Repair Chimes Tower at Scotty’s Castle
Roundhouse PBN, LLC (Roundhouse) served as prime contractor on this design-bid-build historic preservation project at Scotty’s Castle. The exterior decorative tiles on the roof and upper balcony floor are a significant character-defining feature of the Chimes Tower at Scotty’s Castle. However, the tiles had issues of cracking, delaminating bisque, glaze delamination and loss, and the grout was also deteriorated or missing.
Roundhouse understood the importance of protecting the integrity of all components of the Chimes Tower. We brought onto our team a specialty subcontractor, Spectra, who executed the removal and replacement of the tiles and grout under the supervision of our On-site Superintendent/ Site Safety and Health Officer (SSHO).
