Contract Value:  $4.6M, five years

Tepa is assisting the Air Force Civil Engineer Center (AFCEC) with the centrally managed U.S. Air Force Perfluorooctane Sulfonate (PFOS)/Perfluorooctanoic Acid (PFOA) (i.e., PFC) and Emerging Contaminant (EC) Management Program. Our specialists provide high-level program technical support and rapid response at PFOS/PFOA release sites and support compliance with Department of Defense (DoD) and Air Force directives. Among the team’s tasks:

  • Developed Environmental Management System (EMS)-like knowledge base containing comprehensive program information (surveys, audits, incidents, performance indicators, policy, management and reference documents, and operational status)
  • Responded within 24 hours to support several of the most high-visibility releases that impacted public drinking water supplies
  • Supporting the execution of Preliminary Assessments and Site Inspections of U.S. Air Force (USAF) facilities
  • Providing advanced geological analysis (Environmental Sequencing Stratigraphy) to identify critical factors controlling subsurface contaminant transport at the most complex PFOS/PFOA release sites
  • Providing high-level support for engaging the regulatory community during the USAF’s development of responses to the PFOS/PFOA health advisories and new standards for other aqueous film-forming foams (AFFF) constituents
